Incase you're living under a rock or perhaps INSIDE ONE, CES, the Consumer Electronics Show, kicked off today in fabulous Las Vegas, albeit without Bill Gates.
G4, just like in years past, will be doing live coverage from the show floor. I could give you all the details but their press release does it much better, so here you go:
LOS ANGELES, January 5, 2009 - With approximately 300 new exhibitors and 2,400 returning, the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest consumer technology convention in the world, will feature more products than ever before. Once again G4, the authority on all things tech, will take viewers inside the massive event for two nights of live coverage. "Attack of the Show" hosts Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn will lead a team of correspondents to cover every corner of the show floor where the world's top technology companies will unveil their latest innovations, showcase cutting-edge electronics, launch ground-breaking new products and make announcements about next-generation consumer technology. Additionally, with the economy on everyone's mind, G4 will advise viewers on which products and technologies are worth investing in as well as name the best buys for those on a budget. "G4 Presents CES 2009" premieres live Thursday, January 8 from 6-9 pm ET/PT. The network's extensive coverage continues live on Friday, January 9, from 6-9 pm ET/PT, with even more from the show.
Covering over a million net square feet of space, the "2009 Consumer Electronics Show" will feature more than 2,700 exhibitors from 30 product categories. This year, auto technology, digital imaging, entertainment content and location based services (LBS) are growth leaders, expected to deliver major announcements at the show. G4's Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn, joined by correspondent Kristin Adams, gadget experts Chris Hardwick and Dave Mathews, as well as numerous guest experts, will be center court, bringing viewers an all-encompassing look at the best of CES and breaking news as it happens.
G4's nightly specials will also feature floor demos of the newest gizmos and reviews of the "must-have" toys, as well as an "inside the machine" exclusive look at how some of the hottest gadgets are made. In addition to product launches and demos, the 2009 CES will include an overwhelming array of 200 conference sessions with 500 expert speakers. G4 viewers will have the best seat at the most important press conferences, keynotes and events, and behind-the-scenes access for special interviews with industry legends.
"CES encompasses what G4 is all about which is why we offer more coverage from the show than any other network," said Neal Tiles, President, G4. Gee golly that's a long one. If you read all of it, good job. In related news the last relevant year of MacWorld has brought us absolutely nothing of interest except higher and lower priced iTunes songs. WTG Apple, I was really looking forward to my iPhone Nano Pro Aluminum but I guess I'll have to settle with the $2,000 disposable laptop.
