About Portal

Status: Cancelled; Not Airing

From the omni-dimensional communications center known as The Hub, Dave and his computer companion VAL explore the ever evolving virtual universe of Massively Multiplayer Online Games. And they’ve got help… You’ll also meet The Drifter – the virtual world’s greatest hero, Grooter – the virtual world’s most lovable Redneck, Berney – Dave’s nauseatingly lovable best friend, and dozens more digital wackos. From the depths of the darkest dungeons, to the farthest reaches of interstellar space, Portal takes you beyond games, and into the unknown.

Hosts

Dave Meinstein

Portal was created, hosted and written by Dave. Previously, Dave has done work for the E! network and is currently writting an animated movie titled “Cereal Heroes.” Dave’s website, while not complete, is scheduled to be open by “April 2014″ at davemeinstein.com.

History

The Show started off as, a instructional view at the online MMORPG’s. With a bit of story. G4 then soon thereafter greenlighted the show to have more story elements and, less instructional views. It was for a long time the only show on G4 with a storyline. Then, when the G4 merger with TechTV happened it was revealed that Portal was cancelled and, it would only have a few more episodes. The Portal crew were told prior to the cancellation so, that they could film the last two episodes. In the Summer of 2006, Dave announced that classic Portal episodes would soon appear in the entirety on G4′s official website, however due to computer problems, the project was delayed and is still MIA. Portal was included in the G4 Rewind block in the summer of 2008.
