G4 Rewind

In a case of epic fail, instead of announcing their much hyped big mystery announcement today on Attack of the Show, G4 instead announced that... they had no announcement. Yes, it seems whatever they were going to say isn't ready yet, due to legal reasons so we don't know exactly when they'll announce it.

G4 Rewind is pretty sure it's some form of the fabled online archive we've been waiting on for well over a year now that would host full episodes of G4 shows including new episodes Electric Playground, Happy Tree Friends and reran episodes of current G4 shows AOTS and X-Play and POSSIBLY older shows like Portal, which has been "in progress" forever. It's possible that third party shows (COPS, Ninja Warrior, Cheaters, etc.) are the "legal reasons" that are holding this back.

However that's all just speculation. We'll keep you posted if G4 ever decides to let the cat out of the bag.

G4 is touting the biggest announcement in the channel's history will be made this Thursday at 7:20pm EST. The current winning guess is that the channel is going HD, but if that's the biggest announcement in G4 history, than that's pretty lame. We'll keep you updated if we hear anything worth posting.

So yeah, in case you didn't know, G4's 5 hour Halo 3 Countdown airs tonight (8/24), starting at 7pm with a psuedo Free Stuff/AOTS, which gives you the chance to win a Halo 3 themed Xbox 360 all night long, and continues with a bunch of other Halo 3 stuff at 8pm with interactivity (polls, on screen chats, etc.), interviews, history, G4's review of Halo 3, and more, leading up to the midnight release of Halo 3.

So tune in or something. Or, you can send in a Video Viewer Mail...err, "Halo Nation" report while waiting in line.

Ontop of the G4TV.com videos you've seen popping up, the G4TV.com page has been overhauled as well and now even Scot Rubin has a little bio.

Also, while we haven't seen any new episodes for almost 6 months, the Cheat! page has been overhauled and the Prince of Pringles has is own bio as well. More to come at a date not yet determined.

While G4 said EP would be back in the Summer, it's made a slight slip to October, according to G4 web admin "thedude" in a post in the EP Forums. Here's the short but sweet news.

"EP will be back in October on G4tv.com

This is official, you can bank on it."

Some progress on the site!

-Small updates to the Attack of the Show page, changed to NEW LAYOUT v1.1!
-X-Play page started
-Web Shows page created, finished.

So it's not MUCH progress but it is 100% more than no progress.
