We have included for you a quick rundown of them and their impact on the network.
Note: This page will be peridically updated as G4 is known to rearrange and add/drop shows on a frequent basis. Also, in addition to listed air times, many of these shows are aired outside of their premiere time slots.

Original Call for Help Logo (Web 2.0 ver)History

Premiering in May of 1998 on ZDTV, Call for Help is easily one of the longest running technology-related shows to date. Originally hosted by Laporte, ZDTV became TechTV and C4H was later hosted by Becky Worley and then Chris Prilillo. Prillio was laid off and Laporte was again put at the helm of the C4H ship. The show also had a short co-host stint by current X-Play host Morgan Webb. In May of 2004, Call for Help fans were stunned when it was announced that the show would be canceled with the network's merger into G4, despite the show being second in network ratings.

Summer of 2004 brought relief, as Rodgers Communication, a part-owner of TechTV Canada commissioned Laporte to begin making new episodes of Call for Help in Toronto. Laporte was joined by new co-hosts Andy Walker and Monica Litonjua, later replaced by Amber MacArthur. The show was briefly shown on the US's G4TV, however was dropped from the schedule late in 2005 after low-ratings in terrible time slots. Currently the show does not air in the US, but episodes can be bought for 99 cents each on Google's video service.

In December of 2006, Rodgers Communication commissioned Greedy Productions, the same production company behind G4 shows Judgment Day and The Electric Playground, to produce the next season of Call for Help. The show will move production to Vancouver and the crew will be laid off. Although MacArthur left the show in November 2006, Laporte will stay on as host. To be renamed "The Lab with Leo Laporte" the final episodes under the C4H moniker aired in January 2007.

Tidbits
-Call for Help is the longest running show on G4TechTV Canada
-Laporte also co-hosted The Screen Savers
-Call for Help is the 2nd show in G4 lore to have a name change (The Lab with Leo Laporte)

Anime Unleashed

Anime Unleashed's Current LogoAbout Anime Unleashed

Showcasing the best in animation from across the pond, Anime Unleashed aired dubbed anime such as Last Exile, Gad Guard and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. Acting as a block rather than an actual show, AU rotated in and out new episodes and reruns of anime often and was relatively light on edits.

Status
-Anime Unleashed is canceled and no longer airs.

History

Anime Unleashed originally aired on TechTV and survived the transition to G4. After moving over to G4, AU has aired new episodes of old favorites Last Exile and Gad Guard, acquired the rights to air Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. -AU airs movies as well as individual episodes of series
-AU was not allowed to air on G4TechTV Canada due to government law restricting them to showing only tech related content. However recently G4TechTV Canada got the green light and began airing "Anime Current" which airs various anime series.

Original Cinematech Logo History

Cinematech has largly stayed the same over it's long run on G4. Mostly the show has clips from current and upcoming games, however there are some all-request and theme-based episodes. Being an extremely cheap show to produce, it works well as filler throughout the daytime and has even spawned a spinoff "Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions," which airs game footage with mature rated content such as violence and sexual themes. Cinematech got a visual makeover soon after the TechTV merger.

Tidbits
-Cinematech was one of the 13 original series to debut with G4.
-Cinematech is the longest running show on G4 (tied with Cheat!)
